Dr. Chiara Modanese recieves Payling Prize
Dr. Chiara Modanese has recently received the Payling Prize as best presentation during the European Working group on Glow Discharge Spectroscopy (EW-GDS). This is a prize established in honour of the famous scientist R. Payling. The prize is given to outstanding presentations in the field of glow discharge by PhD students and young scientists.

A workshop on defects in crystalline silicon is arranged through the Centre at the University of Oslo on November 16-17 2011.
Courses autumn 2011
A course on Advanced characterization methods is organized in weeks 41 and 44, within he Centre's Researcher School program.
Courses spring 2011
A couple of courses will be arranged within the Centre's Researcher School program during 2011. Firstly, a course on Advanced Silicon Solar Cells is organized in weeks 6, 10 and 15. Secondly, a course on ab initio modelling of solar cells will be given in weeks 8 and 11.
